Apart from Duck Dunn v James Jamerson (very honorable draw), the Mar-Keys pissed all over the Funk Bros. And the Wrecking Crew can fuck right off.
So there! (pokes out tongue)

Max Weinberg wrote, "If Hal Blaine had played drums only on the Ronettes" "Be My Baby", his name would still be uttered with reverence and respect for the power of his big beat."
Wiki
Weinberg played drums for Bruce Springsteen, so he knows what he's talking about.

May she rest in peace if there is music as she enters the other side I hope for her it is as pure and sweet as cool water in a hot desert.
There are very few great Legends on this earth but Aretha Franklin was definitely one, she had a voice that could make you cry or dance but there is nothing that women sang that would not evoke some emotion. Someone wrote that Aretha screamed and did not sing, I doubt whether I have heard anything so stupid on this site and that is the truth, she sung the heck out of any song that left her mouth and did it in a way that left even the most talented singers astounded. Thanks Aretha Franklin you definitely left your mark in this world touching so many hearts and souls with your wonderful voice. Sleep sweetly magnificent Queen of Soul .

'Weinberg played drums for Bruce Springsteen'
You say that like it's a good thing.

Incidentally, my objection to 'the Wrecking Crew' is that they were never known as that during the peak of their productivity. They were just a bunch of elite LA sessioners who got hired together a lot. No shame in that, of course.
The Mar-Keys were an actual thing and the Funk Bros were 'Motown's answer to the Mar-Keys'. Them white boys in LA couldn't let that stand.

You can say what you like about Urethra Franklin, but don't ever say her version of I Say a Little Prayer was better than Dionne Warwick's original. Absolutely no way.
Fuck me, is it 50 years ago since I stopped listening to pop music?
